GRC - Glass fibre reinforced Concrete is a concept with which you can create
wonders.
GRC is a composite
material made up of Cement, Fine Silica Sand, Alkali Resistant
(AR) Glass fibre, Chemical
Admixture and Water.
GRC can be moulded
in to any shape, size or form color and texture etc. depending upon the
choice of the Architect. It is a tailor made product.
In fact, GRC is an
ideal substitute for stone carving which can be dry clad on to column capital,
column shaft, column base, arches, cornices, dome, jallies, exterior building
cladding etc to enhance the Architectural appearance of the building.

GRC being light weight
and immune to weather, forms a versatile building material from Architectural
point of view.
GRC being moulded in
the plant, speeds up the construction.
GRC has been used world
wide, particular in seismic prone regions because it has got tendency to
bend and not crack when subjected to seismic forces.
GRC is a material,
which today is making a significant contribution to the economics, to technology
and to the aesthetics of the construction industry worldwide

Why GRC
?
Unique combination
of properties needed most by Construction Industry.
The Alkali Resistance
(AR) property of Glass Fiber with high Zirconia content (Zro2) as reinforced
material provides long-term durability because Glass Fiber used effectively
Reinforces the mortar
mix thereby improving its tensile and flexural characteristics.
GRC provides the architect
with an end product range that no other material can match in terms of SHAPE,
FORM, TEXTURE, LIGHTWEIGHT, MOULD ABILITY and LONG TERM
Technical
Properties
Exclusive features
of GRC
Light weight but high
tensile and flexural strength.
Design flexibility.
Thin cross-section
and so matchless mould ability.
High density with low
porosity.
High impact resistance.
Non-combustible, not
easily ignitable and fire resistant.
Resistance to weather,
corrosion, fire, abrasion, seismic shocks and termites. etc.
Advantages
of using GRC
Light Weight :
Fast installation
Reduced load on building
High Strength :
Allows greater lengths, reduced number of supports and thin sections
Hard and dense surface offers resistance graffiti.
High Impact Resistance
:
Minimizes breakages during transportation and erection.
Durability :
Needs low maintenance.
Never rots or corrodes
No brittleness over a period of time unlike asbestos products.
Choice of Colour/
Texture
The desired shade with various surfaces finishes such as plain or sand
stone, striped granite, oak finish, stonewall and acid wash can be obtained.
No steel reinforcement
:
So, no electromagnetic interference with signaling cables.
No Health Risk :
AR glass fiber is non-respirable unlike asbestos fiber.
Easy and dry Fixing
:
Avoids all problems of wet fixed cladding such as streaking and stained
joints can be dry fixed with stainless steel fixtures.
Thermal and Sound
insulation :
The building achieves thermal and sound insulation due to the air gap between
the wall and GRC.
